August 7th 2015: Lorna – London’s Leaving Me.
The 5th album from Nottingham six-piece Lorna is released today on Words on Music (Minnesota, USA). It has received great critical acclaim from Uncut ‘…Lorna bleed shoegazing ambience with bittersweet Belle & Sebastian indiepop. Lovely stuff…’ The Skinny ‘…heartfelt indie-folk straight from the songbook, rising and falling, softly triumphant…’ and was play-listed in the top 20 tracks of this months Mojo. The band have recently completed live dates at Rough Trade and The Bodega in Nottingham and the Leeds Brudenell Social Club.

The album is available in all good records shops, digital distributors and directly from the words on music website www.words-on-music.com

Other press for London’s Leaving Me:
‘…Another matchless collection of earnest, egoless indie-pop…’ Buzzin music
‘…The folks in Lorna succeed where others fail because they’re smart…they’re talented…and they don’t sound like everyone else. Instead of following familiar trends or overtrodden paths, these folks faithfully follow their own muse. Nice, moody, smart, and inventive..’ Baby Sue
‘…Opening cut “Like Alastair Sim” unfolds slowly and beautifully while the more upbeat, catchier “Wayne Mills” is among the band’s best songs yet…’ Daggerzine
A love-letter to Nottingham

Like Alastair Sim/In Amber
Last night we played both Like Alastair Sim and In Amber live and acoustic in a tiny church in the Nottinghamshire Countryside. The sound and reverb was really spectacular.
New single and video
Wayne Mills is the brand new single from Lorna out on April 18th 2015, from the forthcoming album ‘London’s leaving me’. A summery indie-pop song with jangly guitars, analog synths, rich orchestration and sun-soaked harmonies. The song features a guest appearance from Andy Mellon (Bellowhead, Damon Albarn) and was recorded between 2013-2015 at Lorna’s own ‘Winnetka Studios’ and ‘Random Recordings’ in Nottingham. The video was produced by Mark Rolfe and Sharon Cohen-Rolfe and stars Sally Morton, Zoe Makings, Max Taylor……and Wayne Mills.
