A memorable week

We had a terrific time in our hometown officially launching both the Heart of Wire album and the As She Goes By single in the UK.  It was great to see such a crowd for our Heart of Wire intensive set which also spanned 10 years of lorna music.   August Actually and The Amber Herd were both sublime and were excellent guests of ours.

The week also saw As She Goes By receive airplay on Amazing Radio, Trent Sound, Irvine FM, WMBR 88.1fm, Nusic and BBC Radio Nottingham.  Matt joined Alan Clifford for an interview online and Mark, Sharon and Rein joined Dean Jackson on Saturday night for BBC East Midlands Introducing.   The single is available now on iTunes.

We are currently booking shows for the Autumn,  the first confirmed show is on September 28th at The Hairy Dog in Derby with the super Dutch Barn who have just released their ‘Lighter Later’ album.   We are also hoping to schedule in a stripped down show in Los Angeles in August with our label mates Coastal!    We are also commencing work on a fifth album.

Finally, we have launched two new shirts for 2013.  Both are available in our store

Heart of Wire update, Bandstand show

Our 4th album Heart Of Wire is now mastered and having artwork finalised before being sent for production.  We hope to launch the album with a hometown show in Nottingham towards early next year

We played our last show of the summer show last weekend previewing songs from Heart Of Wire.  The sun was blazing down in Nottingham as we played in the 100 year old bandstand by the river to a lovely gathering.

Show this weekend…

Lorna are to continue their promotion of the forthcoming “Heart Of Wire’ album with a free outdoor show this Sunday in Nottingham.   They will be playing on the embankment area of the City mid-afternoon in a special show that is happening through the UK to mark the end of Olympics/Paralympics in the UK.

Furry things and South Yorkshire

Opening for The Psychedlic Furs was a fantastic experience for us.  We had a wonderful night and were very gratefully appreciated and met a lot of lovely people.   We move onto Sheffield for our next show on Sunday 22nd July, full details in the shows section.   Our new album ‘Heart Of Wire’ is due to be mastered this month for an Autumn release.
